The Susan Fund provides financial and emotional support to those students facing staggering medical costs associated with cancer treatment in addition to the ever-increasing costs of higher education.
The Susan Fund has grown dramatically since its inception in 1982 in both the number of grants and the total amount bestowed. To date we have distributed about $1,824,600 in scholarship money, with 846 scholarships awarded to 285 students.
The Susan Fund depends primarily upon individual, corporate and service group contributions to accomplish its objectives. Various fund-raising activities have included dinner dances, auctions and a concert by one of Susan’s classmates. Expenses for the fund are minimal and the needs of the organization are met through a joint volunteer effort. The Susan Fund has a 501(c)(3) federal tax status and donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
