Josh Cappello
Trumbull, CT
Josh will be graduating from Southern in December, 2024 with a BA in History. This achievement is remarkable in that, throughout his college career, Josh has been coping with recurring brain tumors. Despite this enormous challenge, his grades have been extraordinary. In his letter of recommendation, one of his professors wrote, “Josh is a very hard worker, a sharp thinker, a good writer and a lively presence in class discussions.” Josh’s goal has remained the same throughout his education. He has developed a passion for the history of the Middle East and plans to teach on the college level. This inspired him to learn Arabic. Some day we will be referring to him as Professor Cappello! This is his fourth Susan Fund scholarship.
