Abigail Cerny

This is Abigail’s first Susan Fund scholarship. Her ultimate goal is to obtain a postsecondary education in order to earn a degree in biochemistry. She has been an active volunteer through SOSA, a nonprofit organization that partners with local philanthropies to help the underprivileged and disadvantaged, as well as provide community service in Fairfield County. Abigail is also an academic tutor and mentor, and traveled to West Virginia to help repair homes through the Appalachia Service Project. Abigail was an A student during her four years at Fairfield Ludlow High School. Her letter of recommendation said, “Abigail brings with her a manner that is determined, sincere, and extremely mature and uncommon for a woman her age.”
