Western Connecticut State University
Jose is continuing his studies at WCSU, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance and plans to earn an MBA. He currently works as a student intern in the university Cashier's Office and has also worked as a pledge processor for United Way. His goal is to build a stable career that will allow him to support himself and eventually give back to the community and the people who helped him throughout his cancer journey. His supervisor describes him as welcoming and helpful, with "intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and his ability to manage complex tasks," and says his perseverance and ability to navigate adversity speak to his character and inner strength. This is Jose's fifth Susan Fund scholarship.
