Joshua Arouni

Stamford, CT
University of Connecticut Stamford
This is Joshua’s first Susan Fund scholarship. During his cancer treatment, he found inspiration in the technology that surrounded him in the hospital, which sparked his passion for computer science and artificial intelligence. Joshua plans to pursue a degree in AI and data science with the goal of developing tools that analyze medical data, create personalized treatments, and improve the recovery of children with cancer. He was president of his school’s Interact Club, completing over 300 volunteer hours, and served as an AWANA leader, a National Honor Society volunteer, and a Youth Data Analyst for Stamford Cradle to Career. His letter of recommendation describes him as a “dedicated and impactful leader in our community” who will “continue to positively impact those around him.”
