Anslem Juan

Danbury, CT
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

This is Anselm’s first Susan Fund scholarship. With a passion for STEM, he attends RPI with a goal of using science to create change. He recently earned his Series 65 license and is developing programs that help families and individuals plan for financial stability. Anselm has volunteered more than 100 hours as an English-as-a-second-language tutor and works with K–5 students in homework help. He has spoken and performed at fundraisers for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, combining advocacy with his talents. He continues to face challenges following cancer treatment but focuses on gratitude for the future ahead. His letter of recommendation called him “a deep thinker, a diligent worker, a polymath, and a thoughtful and responsible collaborator with his peers.”
