Jose is attending WCSU to pursue a degree in finance and also tutors at his local library. Diagnosed with cancer during high school, Jose demonstrated remarkable resilience by persevering through treatment while graduating with his peers. Now in college, he continues to show determination to succeed in the financial sector and maintain a positive outlook for his future. His letter of recommendation reflects both the challenges he has overcome and the maturity he has developed, noting, “Jose has grown personally and I believe he will make this challenge a chapter in his life’s story, not the entire narrative.” This is Jose’s fourth Susan Fund scholarship.
