Ryan began a three-year Doctorate in Nursing Practice Program for Nurse Anesthesia in January 2023. Upon graduation he plans on working in a large surgical center with an anesthesia team utilizing the fullest extent of his scope of practice. Prior to his graduate program, Ryan worked for a year and a half in the Cardiothoracic ICU at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian.
Ryan’s letter of recommendation says that “he has developed advanced critical thinking skills at an early stage in his nursing career. He proficiently interprets patient variables to anticipate patient outcomes.” This is Ryan’s fifth Susan Fund award.
