Maddy was a Susan Fund scholarship recipient throughout her undergraduate studies. The Board is delighted to continue to assist her throughout law school. She has developed a passion for working with the underserved population. She wrote, ―I‘m hoping to use my legal career to work on criminal justice reform – specifically the transition from incarceration into the ‗real‘ world in an effort to reduce recidivism….I also want to work with communities to institute social programming to better support the underprivileged population.‖ Maddy‘s letter of recommendation stated, ―Maddy has demonstrated compassion for her fellow students… She is a law student with a strong work ethic… Academically she displays the kind of persistence that I imagine she used in overcoming cancer!
