Jack will be a junior at the University of Richmond this fall majoring in Psychology. This summer he trained specifically to learn how to drive an ambulance. As a volunteer firefighter at the Noroton Fire Department and a volunteer EMS in Darien-Post 53, his ambulance driving training will certainly be an asset. In the next year, Jack will be applying for a career fire department position in Connecticut, ideally in New Haven. On Jack‘s application, he wrote, ―My cancer experience gifted me the ability to empathize, and that is one of the greatest gifts I ever received.‖ This is Jack‘s third Susan Fund scholarship.
