This fall, Brent entered his sophomore year at SHU; he enjoyed his first year there very much. He is on the SHU chess team which won their division in last fall‘s online league. This summer Brent worked at a chess club in Norwalk teaching private and group lessons and summer camp. Brent will continue to compete in person in Virginia at the PanAm Intercollegiate chess championships against sixty other college teams. Brent also enjoys giving online chess lessons during the school year through the Chess Club of Fairfield County. Brent‘s letter of recommendation states, ―He is incredibly passionate about chess and our University. Brent has shown leadership… and is a respected teammate and friend.‖ This is Brent‘s second Susan Fund award.
