When Charlie Capalbo was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and went into remission, he never could have imagined being diagnosed with Leukemia a year later. Thankfully, his brother Will was a 90% match as a marrow donor. As an avid hockey player his whole life, Charlie describes it as “in goalie perspective, Will made a once in a lifetime save.”

While Charlie underwent his aggressive treatment to battle the disease, he stayed positive by envisioning even the smallest details of being back on the ice, either coaching, playing or just watching the game. After three years of fighting back to back cancers, Charlie made his dream of getting back on the ice a reality, where he finally “felt home again.”
